Postby billmcm on Tue Jan 26, 2010 3:23 pm

Hi There,

Does anyone know the external power requirements for a 3GS please? I understand the voltage is 5V, but dan't know the requirenments for current.

Thanks.

Same as USB!
As a USB cable is needed to activate and update firmware you should have one!

Thanks Geoffers,

I understand the USB thing. I'm looking to use an in-car charger to charge my 3GS. I already have a number of plug-in chargers that provide 5V with different milliamp ratings. Rather than pay the £20 required to buy a new charger I thought I'd use one of my existing ones but don't want to exceed the current rating of the phone, hence my questions.

Cheers.
