Sim tray problem

Postby WackyZacky on Wed Mar 10, 2010 4:56 pm

Hi,

My son has just sent me his iPhone 3G as he has now got a 3GS. I can't seem to get the sim tray to open and I don't want to push too hard with the tool. Should the sim tray be level with with the top of the case? How much force is needed to open the tray?

Yes, the SIM tray should be flush with the top of the case.

It shouldn't take much force with the SIM tool or an unfurled paper clip prodded into the little hole. It should then spring out a couple of millimeters.

Thanks,

I can see to the inside for about 1 cm, I wonder if the tray has fallen out?

Panic over.

I've just had a phone call from my son asking how I was doing with the phone, when I told him I couldn't seem to be able to see the sim tray he said he thought he knew where it was. A few minutes later he rang back, it was on his desk, when he put his sim into his new phone he got called away for a few minutes and when he got back he packed up the phone. should get the tray in the post in a couple of days, then I can get going.

Great stuff.
When you're up and running you'll have to let us know how you're doing with it.
The iPhone can be quite complex, depending how you want to use it, and I would say most issues get covered here. So keep popping in, you might pick up so good tips.
