This hack involved downloading 2 programmes and adding a line to a file on the pc, This is to fool iTunes and allow Cydia to roll your phone back to 3.1.2.

It REALLY WORKED from me!!!!

just looked at iphoneunlocking.org.uk and they are stating that they can unlock iphone 3g, 3gs with 3.1.3 05.12.01 baseband, this must be a scam site for sure. Confucious can you clairfy before people get drawn into this, as i believe no one has an unlock for the new baseband even if they claim to on thier websites.

Plus is there a way to report the said sites or not..????

It is NOT a scam. I shelled out yesterday and now mine is unlocked and jailbroken. I must say, I was more than a little surprised!

It does require that the phone has to be rolled back to 3.1.2. Previously assumed impossible with the new baseband 05.12.01.

However, the trick is to add a line to one of the iTune files on the PC. This then redirects the
ITunes update signature server to Cydia (instead of to Apple) and allows Quickpawn and Blackrain to finish the process.

NB Mine, although jailbroken, still has bb 05.01.12!!

If you wish PM me terence.elliott@googlemail.com I will tell you how to do it. Although I have paid for the information, it is no skin of my nose to pass it on. I was so impressed!

Rolling back to 3.12 omn a 3GS is only possible if you have your SHSH on file with Cydia.

Unlocking a phone with BB 05.12.01 (as opposed to Jailbreaking) is not possible. Are you saying your phone is unlocked?

I REPEAT. MY IPHONE 3gs WAS 3.1.3 BB 05.12.01 (HAVING EARLIER ACCIDENTLY UPGRADED IT) IT IS NOW3.1.2 AND JAILBROKEN.
